Sony Ericsson CyberShot Concept

December 26, 2011 Leave a comment
The Sony Ericsson CyberShot concept is the first android based Cybershot phone from the company. The series of Cybershot phones are popular for having high quality and incredible kind of cameras. The Arc in these cameras makes this device different and unique in many ways. Sony has not unveiled the device or its details in public domain, but a couple of details have been surfacing over internet at different places. These phones are also known as Sony Ericsson Cyber-Shot Yiko. Let’s try to explore the device in this article based on some gloomy or modest information available at the moment.

A closer look at Sony Ericsson CyberShot concept phones: As said earlier, the device is the first cell phone which works on the android platform. It runs on android based operating system in a typical SE customized format. The phone carries a 16 megapixel camera empowered by Exmor R technology with an incredible kind of flash. The form factor seen over this device would certainly remind you the other devices from the company especially the one called as Xperia Arc. It also resembles to a great extent to the Yiko device in terms of shape and thickness. Having these similar patterns of the above named two devices, you can include this device in the category of Xperia Arc which just differs by having a powerful and enhanced kind of Camera.

Device too good to be true: The picture of the device seen in a number of blogs and press releases at various places seems to be pretty blurred or hazy. However, looking over them it appears to be a touch screen based cell phone having a logo of Cyber Shot at the front side. The unfortunate part is you will not find any back side picture of this device; still people are confused whether the camera would have optical zoom or a xenon flash. However, either of the two is likely to be seen when the device finally embarks in the market somewhere in the coming year (might be in somewhere in mid 2012). Certainly the presence of three buttons seen over the front side indicate the common keys including the home, return and menu keys which is pretty similar to the latest Xperia handsets. So regardless of the way it comes, one thing is sure, the smartphone users are likely to get a device which can be too good to believe. In other words a dream come true device.

The fans of Sony Ericsson are pretty impatient as far as the CyberShot Concept phone device is concerned. With this device the company is likely to steal the show in the market of smartphones’. If we keep on judging on the simple and modest kind of picture seen at various posts and news articles, we can simply conclude that the device is going to fulfill the desires and wishes of millions of smartphone users. For that we just have to wait and watch for the mid 2012 when the device is finally going to mark its presence in the market.

More than just a phone the new smartphone/tab/gadget review

A mobile phone! Yes, the new smartphone is more than a phone. It is classy, trendy and noted for its missing keyboard. The slider key board makes it looks totally different from the normal phones in the market. These phones had been in operation since the early 2000’s when they were only a requisite of the few in the society.

The smartphone due to its advance nature is naturally a personal computer. It organizes a person. Powered by Android 2.3 gingerbread with large screen enabling a user to watch movies and share photos conveniently. Some very interesting features with the new phones capability, in allowing users to attend meetings at which ever convenient place you are.

Since the advent of the gadget, nothing has had more reviews than these phones. Currently there is a list of 15 leading phones which include the likes of Android HP amongst others. Trying to compare these gadgets can be one of the most tasking events. Each phone has its advantages and disadvantages.

Makers of these phones compete to better their gadgets by the day. The software capacity and availability has tremendously increased. It does support numerous email accounts effortlessly. Changes in the gadget take place every single day. With the number of smartphones in the market currently, a user would be at a loss of which model to go for.

Samsung Nexus S4G

The new smartphone equipped with a QWERTY key board. This enables users to have the comfort of using it as they would be their computers. With notable higher speed web access, its speed is relatively fast. Users of the Android have the options of prolonging the live of their battery by turning off what is not in operation. These can include radios, WiFi, Blue-tooth, and any other functions.

The Android new phone comes fully equipped with a power control widget. This helps prolong the life of the battery use. Turning off the GPS, that is one of the worst consumers of battery; will give the battery a longer lease of life. Turning off these programs is real easy. All one has to do is to touch the screen where the icon is. Follow the prompt.

Samsung Nexus S4G is one of the newest gadgets in the smartphone collection. This is a product of both Google and Sprint. Almost immediately users noted the addition of the headphones which has been missing considerably in the other phones. The reviews and comments that followed was that it was a nice addition.

Another nice addition has been the volume rocker. This has met the user’s approval as its sound system has no distortion of any nature. With all the nice additions, there are also disappointments. The back covering is of pure quality and does not withstand a lot of pressure as the other phone series. The final worthwhile point was the no dropped calls effect.

Samsung DROID Charge

Moving on, the next phone to have hit the market is Verizon’s Samsung Droid Charge. This is currently, one of the fastest phone carriers to be established in 2011 in the United States. The Samsung Droid Charge is fully equipped with 2 cameras. One in-front and the next at the back, the still photo imprints taken from the cameras are worth viewing and very clear. One of the noted and worthwhile improvements is the chat video camera. It is exemplary.

Interestingly, Verizon did add their software. Despite all the mix, the software programs here are trial basis meaning they cannot last beyond a period. Why would they go that way? Quite amazing! For those who love photographs and wants to add a few to their collection, this is the right camera to use. You will like the final prints.

The Verizon smartphone is worth every penny. The speaker and speakerphone are steady and has no distortion of any nature despite being at places where the network system was rather low. With an upload, and download speed of 28MPs no phone can parallel it. It truly has an amazing downloading and uploading speed. Thumbs up, to Verizon! Boasting of a 2 year warranty period what more could one ask for?

Lastly and briefly lets have a look at the next phone being Windows 7 “Mango” Phone. No phone in 2011 has received more reviews than this smartphone. Boasting of a whole 1000 new features! There is more order here than any where else when it comes to having to search an application. Their alphabetical system is tremendously a smart feature and cannot be ignored. It makes searching and scrolling down real easy.

Notable change in the Windows 7 “Mango” Phone is the WiFi the advanced button is notably evident. Most of the features are minor, but they are worth the effort that put in its final production. The smartphones are here to stay, and we must accept the changes as they come.

Actually there are no differences between the two, except that a term paper is generally intended to describe an event, a concept, or an argue of a point. Also the word origin "term paper" was used to describe as a custom research paper that was due at the end of a "term," its either a semester or a quarter. But not all term papers are involve in an academic research, and likewise not all research papers are term papers.

Antimicrobial Technologies Used in Medical Scrubs Fabrics

May 3, 2011 2 comments
Clothes with antimicrobial capabilities are very important for medical personnel. We know that hospitals and clinics are very prompt to many harmful microbes and deadly viruses. That's why the needs of antimicrobial clothes or fabric is indeed important for protection. Advances in fabric technology had meet such need for antimicrobial protection. Today many antimicrobial technology for nursing scrubs fabric had been used and we will discuss some of them  here.

Let's start with the most widely used antimicrobial technology for medical uniforms, the N-Halamine. N-Halamine is a unique molecular structure compound that binds chlorine to the treated surface of the fabric to provide an extended antimicrobial properties. And as we know chlorine is an agent which is commonly used for killing microbes and viruses. The bonded N-Halamine compounds in the surface of the fabric acts as a killing agent for germs that come into contact with the garments. N-Halamine also remains active for a long length of time until the free chlorine has evaporate or has been rinsed down to drain. N-Halamine compound also have the capability of being recharged by laundering the fabric with the chlorine bleach and it remains effective for years in the fabric.

Next is the Silver Ion antimicrobial technology. As we know silver is the widely use metal for hospitals equipments for its effective antimicrobial properties. Milliken antimicrobial technology come up with the idea of using silver for nursing uniforms by using the silver ions. The idea is by infusing the VisaEndurance technology via silver ions encapsulated in ceramic cages. The technique of this idea is that once the cage comes into contact with moisture, such as human sweat, the silver ions releases the antimicrobial properties that prevents odor caused by the bacteria or microbes. This technology provides long lasting antimicrobial effectiveness, moisture wicking properties, odor-control and stain release for medical scrubs.

Another antimicrobial technology is the Bioshield. Bioshield is an antimicrobial fabric finish which prevents the growth of widely array of bacteria, mold, mildew, algae and yeast. The technique of Bioshield technology is by forming a positively charged polymer which chemically bonds into the fabric and acting like a bed of microscopic spikes. This spikes acts as a piercer to the cell walls of microbes which causes the microbes to die. As part of antimicrobial properties of the Bioshield, it also decreases the growth of odor, mold, mildew, fungi and algae. Bioshield also stands up for other antimicrobial finishes because it acts in a mechanical way, not like a poison. It doesn't also contain toxins that creates potential "superbug" microbes which build up resistance to treatment. Bioshield is also environmentally friendly.

Htc Touch Pro 2 T7373 Unlocked GSM Smartphone International Version / Qwerty Keyboard / Touchscreen / 3.5g Quadband

Smartphone is a mobile phone that offers more advanced computing ability and connectivity than a basic 'feature phone'. While some feature phones are able to run simple applications based on generic platforms such as Java ME or BREW, a smartphone allows the user to install and run much more advanced applications based on a specific platform. Smartphones run complete operating system software providing a platform for application developers.

Growth in demand for advanced mobile devices boasting powerful processors, abundant memory, larger screens and open operating systems has outpaced the rest of the mobile phone market for several years. According to a study by ComScore, in 2010, over 45.5 million people in the United States owned smartphones and it is the fastest growing segment of the mobile phone market, which comprised of 234 million subscribers in the United States.

Operating systems that can be found on smartphones include Symbian (including S60 series), iPhone OS, , Palm WebOS, BlackBerry OS, Samsung bada, Binary Runtime Environment for Wireless, Windows Mobile, Android and Maemo. WebOS, Android and Maemo are built on top of Linux, and the iPhone OS is derived from the BSD and NeXTSTEP operating systems, which all are related to Unix.

Smartbook is a concept of a mobile device that falls between smartphones and netbooks, delivering features typically found in smartphones (always on, all-day battery life, 3G connectivity, GPS) in a slightly larger device with a full keyboard. Smartbooks will tend to be designed to work with online applications.

Smartbooks use the ARM processor, which gives them much greater battery life than a netbook which uses a traditional Intel x86 processor. They are likely to be sold initially through mobile network operators, like mobile phones are today, along with a wireless data plan.

Videophone

Videophone is a telephone  with a video screen, and is capable of full duplex (bi-directional) video and audio transmissions for communication between people in real-time. It is the earliest form of videotelephony.

At the dawn of the technology, videotelephony also included image phones which would exchange still images between units every few seconds over conventional POTS-type telephone lines, essentially the same as slow scan TV systems.

Currently videophones are particularly useful to the deaf and speech-impaired who can use them with sign language and with a video relay service, and also to those with mobility issues or those who are located in distant places and are in need of telemedical or tele-educational services.

The world's first public video telephone service was developed by Dr. Georg Schubert and opened by the German  Reichspost  in 1936 using square displays of 8 inches (20 cm),  but which quickly closed in 1940 due to the WWII. In that service trial, video telephone lines linked Berlin to Nuremberg, Munich, and Hamburg, with terminals integrated within public telephone booths and transmitting at the same resolution as the first German TV sets, at 440 lines. The service was offered to the general public who had to simultaneously visit special post office videotelephone booths in their respective cities, but at the same time also had Nazi political and propagandistic  overtones similar to the broadcasting of the 1936 Olympic Games  in Berlin.

The Deutsche Bundespost postal service would later develop and deploy its BIGFON video telephony network from 1981 to 1988, serving several large German cities.

Videophones in popular culture
  • In many science fiction movies and TV programs that are set in the future, videophones are used as a primary method of communication. One of the first movies where a videophone was used was Fritz Lang’s Metropolis. Other famous examples of videophones include 2001: A Space Odyssey, Space: 1999, Star Trek, Total Recall, and Blade Runner. Of particular note, the videophone was a staple, everyday technology in the futuristic Hanna Barbera cartoon The Jetsons.
  • In science fiction literature, other names variously used for videophone include vidphone, visiphone, and viewphone.
  • A videophone was featured in the 1944 Warner Bros. cartoon, "Plane Daffy", in which the female spy Hatta Mari used a videophone to communicate with Adolf Hitler.
  • In the British cartoon DangerMouse, where the title character regularly communicated with headquarters via videophones from both his home and his car.
  • A device with the same functionality has been used by the comic strip character Dick Tracy since 1964. Called the "2-Way Wrist TV", the fictional detective often used the phone to communicate with police headquarters.
  • AT&T's VideoPhone 2500 prototypes are visible in the movie Gremlins 2: The New Batch.
  • In the animated television program Futurama, the videophone is often used within the delivery service spaceship.
  • Videophones are occasionally used in the Pokémon anime.
  • A "Picturephone" is used in The Simpsons episode "Lisa's Wedding".
  • The singer Beyoncé Knowles released a single called Video Phone from her 2008 album "I am... Sasha Fierce"
  • Popular U.S. TV talk show hostess Oprah Winfrey incorporated videotelephony into her TV program on a regular basis from May 21, 2009, with an initial episode called "Where the Skype Are You?", as part of a marketing agreement with the Internet telecommunication company Skype.

BlackBerry Storm 9530 Unlocked GSM + CDMA Cell Phone with 3.15 MP Camera (Black) - FACTORY-REFURBISHED from the manufacturer.

General features

Mobile phones are designed to work on cellular networks and contain a standard set of services that allow phones of different types and in different countries to communicate with each other. However, they can also support other features added by various manufacturers over the years:
  • roaming which permits the same phone to be used in multiple countries, providing that the operators of both countries have a roaming agreement.
  • send and receive data and faxes (if a computer is attached), access WAP services, and provide full Internet access using technologies such as GPRS.
  • applications like a clock, alarm, calendar and calculator and a few games.
  • Sending and receiving pictures and videos through MMS, and for short distances with e.g. Bluetooth.
  • GPS receivers integrated or connected (i.e. using Bluetooth) to cell phones, primarily to aid in dispatching emergency responders and road tow truck services. This feature is generally referred to as E911.
  • Push to talk, available on some mobile phones, is a feature that allows the user to be heard only while the talk button is held, similar to a walkie-talkie.
  • features aimed toward personalisation, such as user defined and downloadable ring tones and logos, and interchangeable covers, which have helped in the uptake by the teenage market. Mobile phone content advertising has become massively popular but has also drawn a great deal of criticism. Usually one can choose between a ring tone, a vibrating alert, or a combination of both.
As a result of all these features packed into a tiny device, mobile phones have recently gained reputations for their poor ergonomics. Their small size, plethora of features and modes, and attempts at stylish design may make them difficult and confusing to use.

Other Features
  • Multi-mode and multi-band mobile phones
  • Data communications
  • Cameras

A mobile phone also called mobile, cellphone or handphone is an electronic device used for mobile telecommunications over a cellular network of base stations known as cell sites. Mobile phones differ from cordless telephones, which only offer telephone service within limited range through a single base station attached to a fixed line, for example within a home or an office. Low-end mobile phones are often referred to as feature phones, whereas high-end mobile phones that offer more advanced computing ability are referred to as smartphones.

Samsung i900 Omnia Unlocked Phone with 8 GB Memory, 5 MP Camera, GPS, Wi-Fi, Windows Mobile 6.1, and MicroSD Slot--International Version No Warranty (Black)

A mobile phone allows its user to make and receive telephone calls to and from the public telephone network which includes other mobiles and fixed line phones across the world. It does this by connecting to a cellular network owned by a mobile network operator. A key feature of the cellular network is that it enables seamless telephone calls even when the user is moving around wide areas via a process known as handoff or handover.

In addition to being a telephone, modern mobile phones also support many additional services, and accessories, such as SMS (or text) messages, email, Internet access, gaming, Bluetooth, infrared, camera, MMS messaging, MP3 player, radio and GPS.

The first hand held phone was demonstrated by Martin Cooper of Motorola in 1973, using a handset weighing in at two kilos. By the end of 2009, the number of mobile cellular subscriptions worldwide reached approximately 4.6 billion, penetrating the developing economies and reaching the bottom of the economic pyramid.

The Nokia 6700 Slide

March 29, 2011 Leave a comment
Although the world's leading cell phone manufacturer has already pushed out a few touchscreen handsets, it's touch-sensitive portfolio remains relatively tiny, compared to that of some other companies, say Samsung. For good or bad, in this review we'll be looking at a new non-touch phone from Nokia - the 6700 slide. Our journey won't be boring though, as the Nokia 6700 slide is a smartphone, running the Symbian S60 3rd Edition operating system. Not only that, but it's also really pretty, has very good build quality and owns a 5MP AF camera with Carl Zeiss Tessar optics. So, let's not waste any more time and get down to business.

Nokia 6700 Slide

Here's what you'll find in the box:
  • Nokia 6700 slide
  • Charger
  • 2GB microSD card
  • Wired handsfree
  • Way too short microSD cable
  • Extensive user guide
Most of the Nokia 6700 slide's body is made of aluminum, giving it a solid and high-quality feel. In addition, Nokia has come up with a beautiful design, which looks incredibly stylish. Well, at least our silver color variant is stylish, but the Nokia 6700 slide also comes in many other colors, including red, green and blue, which look somewhat more youthful. The in-hand feel of the phone is what it's meant to be - superb, while the sliding mechanism works flawlessly.

The display on the Nokia 6700 slide measures 2.2 inches and has a resolution of 240x320 pixels, which is more than enough for the size. It has a light sensor for automatic brightness handling that we found to work okay. Still, when outdoors you'll have to shield the screen with your hand in order to get a clear view of what's going on.

The keys below the display are nice to use, including the two circular buttons for "home" and "delete" that give the phone a kind of retro appearance. Although a bit on the smaller side, the numpad is well-made and won't give you headaches. Its keys have a well-pronounced click, which makes it easy to feel when you've pressed them.

Surprisingly, there is no volume rocker on the Nokia 6700 slide. On the right side you'll find the two-step camera shutter, the second step of which could work better, and on the top are the 2.5mm headset jack, Nokia charging port and a wisely-hidden standard microUSB port.

A design element that is worth mentioning is that if you want to remove the aluminum back cover, you'll first have to open the microUSB and then press a key that releases the battery door. Although it's a rather unconventional solution, we can't help but admit we like it, as it is a nice touch that gives the phone even more sense of classiness.

The back side lets you look at its pleasant-to-the-eye 5MP camera with Carl Zeiss Tessar optics and dual-LED flash.
